John P. Vlahos US Army Veteran WWII. Beloved husband of the late Penelope G. nee Maggos. Loving father of Georgejean (Dan) Caras, Kathy (George) Miller, Peter J. (Sophia L.)Vlahos, Christina (Leo) Sussman and the late Dean Vlahos. Proud grandfather of Dean (Susan) and Nicholas (Heather) Caras, John (Lindsay) and Constantine (Nicole) Vlahos, Penelope (Thomas) Gialamas and Gabriel and Rafael Morillo. Great grandfather of of Agapi, George, Elena, Peter and Alexandria. Devoted son of the late Peter and Georgia Vlahos. Dear brother of the late Maria Coules and Antionette (the late Michael) Kaskas. Fond brother-in-law, cousin and uncle of many. John served for many years on the Parish Council of the Assumption Church of Chicago, active member of the AHEPA Garfield Chapter 203 as well with the District and National Order of AHEPA and the Evzones Post #1039 American Legion. Visitation Sunday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Russo's Hillside Chapels, 4500 W. Roosevelt Road (between Mannheim and Wolf Roads) Hillside, IL. Family and friends will meet Monday morning at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church 601 S. Central Ave. Chicago, IL 60644 for funeral service at 10:30 am. Interment Elmwood Cemetery.
