John Walters Obituary

John "Johnny" Allen Walters

January 8, 1958 – September 3, 2025

John "Johnny" Allen Walters, 67, of Visalia, California, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on January 8, 1958, in San Bernardino, California, John grew up in Southern California and later proudly served his country as a United States Marine. Shortly after turning 21, he enlisted and completed a full term as a military policeman stationed at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside. During his service, he earned a Good Conduct Medal, Rifle Sharpshooter Badge, and Pistol Sharpshooter Badge, reflecting his dedication and skill.

John was deeply devoted to his family. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he spent his life putting others first. In times of financial hardship, he was known to spend long nights collecting cans and bottles to ensure his family's needs were met. His quiet strength, humor, and sacrificial love were the foundation of his home.

John gave his life to Jesus at the age of 22. Though life brought its share of challenges, his faith never wavered. In his final moments, that same faith carried him peacefully into the arms of his Savior.

He had a passion for building model military vehicles and read every Louis L'Amour novel he could get his hands on. He had a sharp wit and a unique sense of humor, often narrating the lives of people passing by or making sarcastic observations that kept everyone laughing. John could just as easily make himself laugh as he could anyone else, and his humor brought lightness even in difficult seasons.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Sharon Walters; his daughters Marcy (Walters) Pusey and Laura (Walters) Duro, along with Laura's husband, Niko Duro; his four grandchildren, Matthew, Elisabetta, Corban, and Hannah Pusey; and his sister, Crystal Walters.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to support John's wife, Sharon, during this difficult time at https://www.givesendgo.com/sharonwalters

John's life was a testimony of perseverance, faith, and love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who were blessed to know him.

To all of you, I´m his cousin Cindy our families grew up together, until early adult hood , when there were moves and marriages and such, that separated us , for years we would try to stay in touch, he and Sharon visit with their baby girl Marcy Lara wasn´t born yet we had some good times, even if not enough. Most of all I will remember playing with Johnny , one of the things we liked to do, was play on our swing set and we climbed all over like it was a ship, couldn´t put our feet down or the sharks would get us(lol). We had so much fun ,I thank God for this cousin in my life and he will be greatly missed, at least now there is no pain, his body is whole and new, may the Lord keep you all in his , as I know he is doing right now with Johnny,
