John Ward Obituary
Mr. Ward was born in Oak Park, Ill., on November 3, 1950, to John D. Ward and Frances A. Kientzle Ward. He had lived in Watkinsville since 1988, and retired in February after a 40-year career with Carrier-Transicold.
John enjoyed spending time with his family and working for his church. He was an active and passionate member of the Athens SDA church, where he served as treasurer, as a Deacon, and as an Elder. He loved his church family.
Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his father, John D. Ward Sr., and step-mother, Beverly.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Cindy K. Milano Ward, of Watkinsville; mother, Frances Lundy; sons, Joel C. Ward and Tyler D. (Casey) Desenberg; daughters of the home, Tia M. and Taylor N. Ward and Tisha D. Ward (Rassmussen); step-daughters, Marla Star and Donna Hayes; grandchildren, Alec and Kenzie Ward and Cooper Desenberg; sisters, Mary Ward, Fran (Bruce) Buck, Teresa (Michael) Wheeler, Julie (Rick) Waymire, Deborah (Joe) Jordan, and Karen (Pat) Lawrence; brothers, Jim (Nancy) Lundy, Dan (Gloria) Ward, Tom (Mary) Ward, Mike (Cathy) Ward, Pat (Cathy) Ward, and Bill (Karen) Ward; and 57 nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, at the Athens SDA church. Burial will be in Fruita, Colo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tia and Taylor Ward Educational Funds, at First American Bank & Trust, Watkinsville. Online condolences may be given at www.BridgesFuneral.com.

John was a wonderful boss at Carrier..My late husband thought the world of him..John attended Steves Memorial Service..May God bless n carry each of you thru these days n time yet to come..I take a lot of comfort in knowing that John is with our Savior in Eternity waiting on a family reunion...
