Zielinski, John J.

John J. Zielinski, 84, of Endwell, passed away peacefully Wednesday February 24, 2016. He was pre deceased by a daughter Nancy, and a sister Magdalene Wascalus. He is survived by his wife Alberta, a son and daughter-in-law John P. (Zoe Ann) Zielinski, three daughter and sons-in-laws Teresa (Carmen) Mortise; Kathy (Dave) Reist; and JoAnne (Carl) Cichetti; seven grandchildren Meghann Boyd, Caroline Reist, Joe Reist, John Tyler Shea, Jamie Zielinski, Zachary Zielinski, and Michael Cichetti; two great grandchildren Victoria and Grace Boyd. John was a graduate of Penn State University, and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a former employee of General Electric, Johnson City, and I.B.M. Glendale, and member of its Quarter Century Club. He also was a volunteer fireman at O.L. Davis Endwell, and was a member of St. Joesph's Church Endicott. John loved to play softball, volleyball, go bowling, and Polka dance listening to Bill Flynn. The family would like to thank John's caretakers, Fay, Ty and Pat. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday 10 am at St. Joseph's Church 207 Hayes Ave Endicott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at church on Saturday from 9 am until mass time. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association Central New York 441 West Kirkpatrick Street Syracuse, NY 13204.
