To Johnnie's Wife, Lance & all family,
I have been a patient of my kind doctor, Johnnie Betson, for around 7 years. I truely loved him. He was always there for me; to listen always and never too busy when I needed to talk. He had such kind eyes and I felt so close to him, like a kind of father to me. I will miss him greatly but he will remain in my heart always. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I am John's son-in-law, Rob Barnett. Thank you to everyone for all of the very kind words and thoughts posted on here. For those that did not attend his memorial please know that it was a wonderful tribute to John's life. His daughter, Pam (my wife), assembled a great collage of photo's of John's life. You can view them at this link: http://bit.ly/jrb-pix-collage. From the 150+ people who attended the memorial you could see and feel all the love and respect they all had for John. His legacy will continue on through his children and family, and he will always be in our hearts. RIP Johnnie.

To Dr. Betson's family and staff.
I am devastated to learn of Dr. Betson's passing. He will be greatly missed. I too loved listening to him talk about Winston, his travels, great restaurants etc. He was always there, took every phone call and even returned them from the golf course. Not only my doctor "my friend." My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Karen and all family,
I just heard the news of Dr. Betson's passing and I am deeply saddened. We had so many wonderful talks about traveling and his wonderful stories of Winston his beloved furry baby. Dr. Betson was a one of a kind, a special gem that everyone respected and loved. He had a way to talk and share stories that made everyone feel brighter and optimistic . What a amazing Doctor , he always new just what to say and do. I loved asking him about where to go or stay when traveling. He new every place! He told me where to stay in Paris and I was never disappointed , he could tell you what to see or what chef was going to be there. His memory amazed me. I will always have the fondest memories of this beautiful person who never wanted to retire. He did what he loved, helping others . He was so proud of his wonderful family. Karen he adored you so and loves you so very much. I am so grateful I had the years I did working with such a brillant Doctor and friend to all. Thank you Dr. Betson .
You taught us all so much . You made this world a better place.
With my deepest condolences and love, Tricia Merriam

To the Betson family and staff - my deepest sympathy for your loss. Dr. Betson was one of the kindest, warmest and most wonderful men I have ever had the blessing to have known. He made all of his patients feel like they were his "favorite" one and had nothing better to do than spend his day sitting there in his office just shooting the breeze with them. You always left his presence with a little lighter lift in your step; he always brightened your day. I hope we did just a little bit of the same for him; that he felt our gratitude.

The world has lost an amazing man. Heaven has gained the kindest, warmest soul. Dr. Betson delivered my sister and I at birth and has been our Doctor as well as our mothers for many, many years. We considered him a friend, a confidant and a father figure. Our thoughts and prayers to Lance and Karen and the rest of the Betson family. He will be sorely missed but never ever forgotten.

Words seem to fall flat, I loved Dr. Betson, he was a kind and caring soul.
Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Everything remains as it was.
The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no sorrow in your tone.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort
Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was.
There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we meet again.

I have been a patient of Dr. B.'s for a very long time and he was more than doctor to me. I considered him a dear friend and confidant who always made me feel more than just a patient to him. He had a wonderful "bedside manner" and he will truly be missed by many.

Dear Dr. Betson, Mrs. Betson, and Dr. Betson's Family,
I am just heartbroken to hear of Dr. Betson's passing and want to extend my deepest condolences to all of you. Dr. Betson was my doctor for over thirty years and today, when I went into the office, expecting to see him, I was told of his passing. I broke down because I so appreciated having Dr. Betson in my life.
I feel as though a dear uncle has passed away. Coming to the office, was like coming to see a friend and someone who has helped me all my life. Dr. Betson was so kind that when my father was hospitalized years ago, he came in after surgery on one of his patients to check on and encourage my Dad whom he knew through all my surgeries under his care - we never forgot that kindness.
I had just seen Dr. Betson on Sept. 30th and had a delightful conversation with him about his trip to Hawaii with his family. He expressed how wonderful it was to have everyone together and what fun he had while there. He loved all of you dearly and shared that so often over the many years I saw him. We talked of his family, mine, Winston, grandchildren, just about everything you can imagine. It never felt like a doctor's appointment. More like a really nice vist with a friend who dispensed advice and medicine when you left and who really cared about making your life better.
Please know that we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers as we do him, and thank you so much for sharing your wonderful husband and father with all of us, the patients he cared for so well. Dr. Lance, he was so very proud of you and expressed it often over the years. As you care for the practice he built and the patients who loved him, please know we will be there to support you also.
I am so terribly sorry for your loss. And so grateful to have known such a good man.
Sincerely,
Nicolett Behm
