Johnny Rivers (Juan Rios), 77, of Wichita Falls, Texas, beloved husband, father, and grandfather was called to his Heavenly Home on February 27, 2023.
Johnny was born in Crowell, Texas to Louis and Margaret Rivers on December 20, 1945. He was married for 58 years to the love of his life, Kathy Rivers. He worked as a welder for 20 years and later as a plumber, owning and operating R & R Rooter Service for 25 years. He was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Wichita Falls. He was also a member of the American GI Forum of Texas and served as the Sergeant at Arms. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, and football. And, loved his Houston Texans.
Johnny is preceded in death by his five brothers, Paul Rivers, Bill Rivers, Tony Rios, Daniel Rivers, and Martyke Rios; and two sisters, Josephine Rivers and Mary Holgin.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Kathy Rivers; daughter, Ingered Hernandez and husband Glenn; daughter, Laurie Nevonen and husband James; and son, Louis Rivers and wife Tiffani; along with seven grandchildren, Erica Lawrence, Johnny Hernandez, Logan Nevonen, Jacob Hernandez, Matthew Nevonen, Cash Rivers, and Jenny Rivers; and two great grandchildren, Charlie and Camille Hernandez.
The rosary and vigil service will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 6:00 PM at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 3, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Wichita Falls with Rev. Xavier Silvadasan, celebrant Rite of Committal will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wichita Falls under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
A special thank you to the staff and volunteers at Hospice of Wichita Falls for the loving care they provided to Johnny throughout his short battle with cancer.

It was an honor growing up in Haskell. I was a kiddo when Johnny and Kathy would visit mom and dad . Looked up to him and finally all grown up met up with him and Kathy these last years. Will miss you greatly but will remain in my heart and memories. Rest In peace. Your cousin Danny Ozuna

My deepest sincere condolences and sincere sympathies to my dear friend Laurie and to all the familyI’ve never met your Dad but, I’ve had the privilege of working along side of you in our nursing duties at SAFB and always had the pleasure of calling you my friend!
