Jon Quinton Burger, 74, passed away on September 7, 2025, in Peoria, IL. Born on the same day in 1951, Jon's life was marked by his dedication to his family and his various careers that ranged from managing culinary businesses to working as a barge worker.

Jon's professional life was diverse and fulfilling. In the 1970s, Jon worked with Jay Goldberg as a backstage hand, setting up many music venues in the Peoria area. In the 1980s, he designed and managed Priceless Donuts in East Peoria and a BBQ rib house on Main St. in Peoria, named after his best friend, John Appleberry.His career took a turn when he began working at N.E. Finch as a barge worker. Following a disabling accident, he devoted himself to caring for his younger children, Kyle and Katie, and also worked as a taxi driver.

Jon was a passionate sports fan, particularly of the Chicago Bears, celebrating their 1985 team, and the Chicago Bulls during the Jordan-Pippen era. He played amateur basketball well into his adult years. Aside from sports, Jon was an excellent chef and grill master, known for his love of gardening and a wide taste in music, ranging from BB King to Bob Seger. He cherished spending time with his friends and family, sharing his love for cooking, storytelling, and laughter.

Jon is survived by his wife, Sheryl; his children, Katelyn, Kyle, Tasha, Tabitha, and Kevin; his brother, Mike Burger; and many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Edna Belle Burger, and his daughter, Tina Harrison.

Jon will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, his dedication to his family, and his varied interests and careers that touched many around him. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour and desired for others to follow Him too. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
