Jordan Melton Obituary
Jordan Blake Melton, 28, of Hillsville and formerly of Laurel Fork, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at his home. Jordan was born in Radford, Virginia on August 30, 1992. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Peggy Pender Puckett; step-mother, Chrissy Jones Melton; and aunt, Lisha Trivette.
Jordan had a beautiful smile and a warm hug for everybody that he knew. He was a loving father, husband, brother and son. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Chelsea Melton; daughters, Maci Fay Melton and Aubrie Paige Melton; father, Michael Wayne Melton; mother, Dana Melton Puckett (Eric Pothast); step-father, Jeffrey Puckett; siblings, Madison Paige Puckett and G. Puckett; grandparents, Winston and Oleta Puckett, Cindy Dalton, and Roger Ogle; great-grandparents, Wayman and Mae Dalton; uncles and aunts, Jonathan and Tonian Puckett, Stephen and Kristen Puckett, and Randy Ogle; special cousins, Natalie and Laura Puckett and Nikki Ogle; and many other loved ones.
There will be a celebration of life service on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Gospel Chapel Church in Laurel Fork at 3:00 PM with Pastors Stephen Puckett and Randy McDaniel officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 1:00 until 3:00 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jordan's name to Mount Rogers Community Services – Youth and Family Services by visiting https://www.mountrogers.org/donate/ and entering his name in the name section of the donation form. A guestbook is available online by visiting www.vaughanguynnandmcgrady.com.

This was so sad to hear. Jordan was the sweetest thing even when he was little ! I could go forever without seeing him and he would always come up and hug me no matter how long. I can't even find the words to say. He changed our church youth group forever when he yelled out, "Shrimps ain't pink, stupid!" That has been what seems like ages ago, but it still pops into my head at the most random times, & it always makes me smile. Jordan was such a joy for everybody that knew him. Our Gladesboro kids group will never be the same.

Jordan was an amazing father and husband. He was always smiling and friendly. I always looked forward to seeing him at family events. He really talked, about life, about the future, about his kids and his wife. He was always positive and laughing. My heart hurts for his wife and his children and that such a bright person was taken from such a dark world. He was the kind of person that gave people hope that there were still genuine good people in the world. I hope he knows how highly people thought of him.

I knew Jordan for many many years. One day I had a birthday party when I was young and no one came. Him along with a friend of his and my sister took me out for ice cream and to play putt putt. Jordan was always good for a warm hug, a good laugh, and his smile could light up a room. His loss will effect not only his family but the community at large. Rest easy Jerdan.

I remember the last time I saw Jordan and he gave me a hug and showed me his daughter's picture and he was the same Jordan I remember with this mischievous twinkle in his eyes and his sweet smile. My condolences go out to all of you because I know he will be terribly missed. His life was too short, but I know he is safely in the loving arms of Jesus.
