Jose M. Guerrero, 78, of West Hartford, husband of Mary (Ramirez) Guerrero, died April 10, 2017 at home. Born in Lima, Peru, the son of Ildefonso Guerrero and Grimaldima Palomino, he moved to the United States in 1964 and had resided in West Hartford for the past 41 years. He retired after 41 years from Stanley Works in New Britain. Jose was a devout Catholic and an usher at Our Lady of Sorrows in Hartford. He was a loyal follower of the Lord of Miracles and a founding member of Club Peru for many years. Jose was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed soccer & watching the Red Sox at Fenway with his grandchildren. He was generous and kind, loved animals and especially adored by children. Besides Mary, his wife of 49 years, he leaves three children, Susan Cochran, Joseph (wife Michelle) Guerrero, and Melissa Guerrero; and five cherished grandchildren, Aaron, Alicia, Sammy, Aidan and Gabby. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Church of Our Lady of Sorrows, 79 New Park Avenue, Hartford. Burial will be private at a later date. Family and friends will be received Tuesday, April 11, 2017, 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, 136 South Main Street, West Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church of Our Lady of Sorrows or the Jimmy Fund. For directions and online condolences, please visit www.taylorandmodeen.com.

Mis mas sinceras condolencias por su perdida. La muerte no es algo natural y por po tanto muy doloroso. Por la reseña noto que el Sr. Guerrero fue un creyente devoto. La Biblia da la esperanza de volver a ver a nuestros seres queridos cuando ocurra la resurrección (Juan 11:25). Espero que esa espenza confiable de parte del creador les de una medida de consuelo en este tiempo dificil.
