Joe Brinley (the elder) was my godfather and I was so proud to have him as part of my extended family. They were best friends of my mother and father and I'm sure that it was a positive and supportive friendship all the way around. The Brinleys, Joe and Anna, were like my aunt and uncle and the children, Joe, Carol, and Sarah, were our cousins. Sorry we didn't see as much of each other as we might have but we do know each other as family. Some years ago, I took my family out west and on the way we stopped at the Brinley home and enjoyed a dip in the backyard above-ground pool. It was so great that we got one of our own. God bless the souls of Joe and Anna and deepest sympathy and condolences, on behalf of my wife, Anne, to the survivors. Tom Troy
