BLAND, Va. — Joseph Leopole (Butch) DeWilde, 40, of the Crandon community, Bland, passed away at his home Sunday, January 27, 2008. He was born September 16, 1967 in Bluefield, the son of Barbara W. Kegley and the late Joe DeWilde.He is survived by his wife, Janie DeWilde, Bland; son, Joshua Dale DeWilde, Bland; his mother and stepfather, Barbara W. and Bryon Kegley, Ceres, Va.; his adoptive parents, Agnes Strock and the late Wilbur “Bub” Strock, Bland; one sister and brother-in-law, Agnes and Jonny Wright, Ceres; one brother and sister-in-law, Wilbur and Violet DeWilde, Ceres; one half-sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Ben DeBusk, Saltville, Va.; special aunts and uncles, Nancy and Allen Bralley, Jean and Kenny Umbarger and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.A private memorial service will be at A. Vest and Sons Funeral Home, White Gate, Va. on Wednesday followed by an open public graveside service Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Mechanicsburg Cemetery by Pastor Tom Maurer.There will be no visitation at the funeral home, but friends are welcome at the home anytime.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Mechanicsburg Cemetery or the Bland Rescue Squad.To leave personal condolences online, visit www.legacy.com
