Joseph Ettenberg Obituary

Born 7/20/1924, Died 10/31/2013. Born in Brooklyn, NY.

He served during WWII in the US Army Air Corp from 1943 to 1946. From 1946 through 1968 he had a farm and sold farm equipment and feed. From 1953 to 1958 he was an insurance salesman and trainer for NY Life. From 1957 to 1993 he was an automobile salesman and sales manager.

Joseph was a member of the Jewish War Veterans since WWII. He was Commander of Post # 359 in Freehold, NJ, in 1960. From 1999 until his death he was the commander of the Bernard I Becker Post # 123 in Thousand Oaks, CA.

In 2004 he was awarded Man of the Year by the California Jewish War Veterans. In 2006 he was awarded the Golden Eagle Award from the Veterans Administration Volunteer Services.

He is survived by his children Alan Ettenberg, Simi Valley; Laura Guerrero, Hacienda Heights; and David Ettenberg, State of Washington. He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn and daughter Helene Fox. He had 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
