Joseph "Joey" Makosky

MAKOSKY, JOSEPH "Joey", 51 - a lifelong resident of Vineland, departed this life on Saturday, December 1, 2007. He was a graduate of Vineland High School Class of '74 and was a trumpet player for the VHS Marching Band. He played in the Millville Legion Band and the Pitman Hobo Band with his father Ziggie. His career in hairdressing started in Cherry Hill and then moved back to his area of Millville and Vineland. In 1980 he was the Delaware Valley Hair Dressers Affiliate Gold Medal Champion. 1984 he opened his own salon "Josef Original Hair Designs" and worked as a team with his wife Sandy. Joseph had a passion for hairstyling and truly loved to be with his family of customers. His love of water brought him much joy in boating, fishing, cruising, beaches and travel. Born in Millville to Zygmunt and the late Ethel (Zygadlo-Rosenstein) Makosky of Vineland in 1956. He is survived by his father Ziggie Makosky. His loving wife/soul mate of 32 years, Sandy Makosky. Their family of children, Robbie Makosky, Mikilyn and her husband Matt Hiles, Jackie & Lizzie Voegtlin. Five grandchildren: Cody & Cheyenne Makosky, Bobby, Mattie & Kimi Hiles. Uncle, Chester Zygadlo and cousins Patty Makosky Swanson and Karl Rose. He will be greatly loved & missed by family and friends and his pets Hershey & Reese.
