Joseph Maxwell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Nov. 19 to Nov. 26, 2010.
3/28/62 – 11/16/10
Joe suffered an acute heart attack, early Sunday morning and left this world unexpectedly after a two-day fight for his life at Sutter Santa Rosa Hospital.
He was born in San Jose, grew up in Daly City, and moved to Lake County, California with his family as a teenager. There, he met his wife and raised a family of his own. He loved the community, made many friends, and touched many peoples' lives. Joe was very compassionate, outgoing and unique. He had a goofy sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He loved old TV shows and was an avid collector of "Laurel and Hardy," "I Love Lucy," and "Bewitched" memorabilia.
Joe was a man of character and integrity. He was a two-time Past Master of Hartley Masonic Lodge #199 of Lakeport, California, Past Worthy Patron of Eastern Star #137, member of Royal Arch Masons of California, Scottish Rite of Freemasonary 32°, AAHMES Shriners, Lake County Shrine Club. He enjoyed learning and was invited to be a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Mendocino College.
Joe was an amazing son, husband, father, uncle, cousin, and nephew. He is survived by his wife Kamy, daughter Jennifer Nymeyer (Eli), son Kyle, mother Shirley, sisters Terry Moore and Judy Flynn (John), brother Rick (Gayla), and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Charles.
He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
Joe would love it if you planted a tree in his memory.
Services will be held Monday, November 22, 2010 at 3 p.m. at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary in Lakeport, California followed by a celebration of life at Hartley Masonic Lodge #199 at 375 North Main Street, Lakeport, California.

Joe was a wonderful person, a good friend and an honorable brother in Hartley Lodge #199 Freemasons of California. He was an insperation to me in the lodge and an honest, forthright person that it was my pleasure and honor to know. He will be missed by all who knew him and his passing is a loss for all of us. My sympathies, thoughts, prayers and best wishes go out to all the members of his family and his many friends.

Kamy, I was so sorry to learn of Joe's death. I remember you two as a happily young married couple, just starting your family, when I had my flower shop in Kelseyville. I'm sure your life together, although too short, was precious. God Bless you and your children.

It's hard to find the words to express feelings. I am truly thankful Joe was a God Loving man. He is at peace and is happy. Now we all that remain are sad & full of sorrow. Joe was indeed unique and extremely loving. We were like family as he told me so often. Even being far away didn't stop the chatting. Most often on facebook and/or email. He will be missing by many. My heart goes out to Kamy, Jennifer & Kyle. I share your pain as well as with the rest of Joe's family. Love you Joe. Will totally miss you until we meet again....

I am saddened by the loss of Joe, taken way too early. I have known him for 30 years. We worked together as teenagers at Sprouse-Reitz and he met his wife Kamy through me.I was in their wedding and Kamy was in mine. They were soulmates. My heart goes out to her, their children and all of his family members.Joe was a very caring, unique man and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
