Joseph Musar Obituary

Joseph L. Musar, 86, of California, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001. He was born June 25, 1915, in Newell, a son of the late Samuel Musar Sr. and Josephine (Armaro) Musar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Anthony, Frank and Charles Musar. Joe was a retired electrician from Allied Chemical in Newell, where he worked for 43 years. Catholic by faith, he married his wife, Dorothy Edwards, on Dec. 23, 1938. This December would have marked their 63rd anniversary. He was a member of the Center in the Woods and was past commander of the American Legion JFK Post 327, both in California. Joe served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Left to cherish his memory are is wife Dorothy; son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Michele Musar of California; brothers and sisters-in-law, Samuel and Jean Musar of Annapolis, Md. and John and Ginnie Musar of Newell; one sister, Mildred Miller, also of Newell; one granddaughter, Regina Musar; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, supervisor, 323 Fourth St., California, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and until 11 a.m. on Friday when services will be held in the funeral home with the Rev. Wesley Ward officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the United Christian Church Disciples of Christ, P.O. Box 532, California, PA, 15419.
