PACIFICO Joseph R., Jr. 85, on October 6, 2015. Loving husband of the late Vivian (nee Gentile); devoted companion of Virginia Romano (nee Tavani). Beloved father of Joseph David (Marci), Michael (Donna) and Annette Siravo (Domenic). Cherished grandfather of Joseph R. and Lauren Pacifico, Rachel and Michael Pacifico, and Danielle, Stephanie and Domenic Siravo. Loving brother of Kerry (Francine). Predeceased by his parents Joseph R. Sr., and Josephine Pacifico, his brother Carl Pacifico and his sister, Angela Mohr. Also survived by nephews, nieces and many friends who are blessed by his lifetime of friendship and thoughtfulness. Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing on Friday, Oct. 9, 6-9 PM and Saturday, Oct. 10 9-10:15 AM at the D'Anjolell Memorial Home of Broomall, 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008. Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM, St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, 235 Matsonford Road, Conshohocken, PA. Joseph R. Pacifico, Jr. Joseph R Pacifico, Jr, age 85, entered eternal life on October 6th, 2015 at Jefferson Hospital. He was born and raised in South Philadelphia to the late Joseph R Pacifico, Sr and Josephine Pacifico. Joseph, "Joe" worked in the family automobile business since age 16. He had a summer home on the bay in Ventnor, NJ where he enjoyed fishing and crabbing and watching beautiful sunsets. At the age of 5, Joe learned to become an expert Chess player, even to the point of beating the new computerized chess games at the Steel Pier in Atlantic City. He graduated as President of his class a year early from South Philadelphia High School in 1947. At 19 years old Joe became a partner in a Kaiser-Frazer auto dealership in 1949. In 1954 he became a partner in a Ford Motor Company dealership which he was co-owner for 61 years before his passing. As co-owner of Pacifico Ford, Inc he was one of the co-founding dealerships of the Philadelphia Auto Mall in Southwest Philadelphia in 1970, a new experience in automobile shopping where people could visit many dealerships in one location. In 1986 Joe became a partner in a pioneer Hyundai dealership which was added to the then numerous Automall franchises. Throughout his life Joe was active and philanthropic in charitable works from contributing both his time and donations to such organizations as St. Edmond's Church where he was raised, Waldron Mercy Academy in Merion, PA, and The Guadalupe Guild benefitting the Sisters of the Visitation. Mr. Pacifico was very active in the Commonwealth Lodge # 1949 of the Sons of Italy, where he served as an officer, past President and was awarded their prestigious Man of the Year Award for overseeing numerous charitable events over the years. Joseph Pacifico was a member of the board of the Pacifico Scholarship Foundation Fund benefiting numerous high school students in Philadelphia with college grants. Joe was the devoted, loving husband of the late Vivian (nee gentile); devoted companion to Virginia Romano (nee Tavani). Beloved father of Joseph David (Marci), Michael (Donna) and Annette (Domenic Siravo). Cherished grandfather of Joseph R. and Lauren Pacifico, Rachel and Michael Pacifico, and Danielle, Stephanie and Domenic Siravo. Loving brother of Kerry (Francine). Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Josephine Pacifico, his brother Carl Pacifico, and his sister Angela Mohr. Also survived by nephews, nieces, and many friends and current and past employees who were blessed by his lifetime of friendship and thoughtfulness. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joseph R. Pacifico, Jr. may be made in support of the Department of Medicine at Jefferson.
