I worked for Joe about 10 years. He was a friend and mentor to me. He will be greatly missed.

I was privileged to meet, work with and be considered Joe's friend over the years with Greensteel. He was one of those rare personalities that could appear and light up any meeting or get together. He an Marie complimented each other so well...I was in Detroit years ago on business and they took my boss and I to dinner and a tour of the city. Their effervescence was such a sweet example of the love they had for each other, and their hospitality and kindness were never forgotten. Our friendship over the years remained appreciated and even tho' we didn't see each other for a long time, a phone conversation would fast forward to right now. I will miss his laugh, his optimism and his friendship, and will remember him with a smile. Please know I'm praying for comfort for his family and all who loved him. I am one of you.

I am truly saddened to hear of Joe's passing. I am hard pressed to think of any man I've ever known whose friendship impacted my life like Joe. Every time we were together through Greensteel his sense of humor, his candor and effervescent personality just lit the place up. He was so well liked by all who knew him, I feel sorry for folks who don't know that appeal. One of those friends, even if you didn't see him for years, the minute you heard his voice it was just like yesterday. Please know my prayers are with the whole family and loved ones as you say goodbye. I am grateful for the blessing God gave me of Joe calling me his friend.

Working with Uncle Joe and Bill at Green Steel as a teenager. Up at 5:00 am, work till 7:00 pm or when the job got done (late). Heck of a way to spend a summer. Ended up studying on the chalk boards we made at EDHS. Glad I got to spend that time with them. Frank Reichenbach
