Joseph Robichaud Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 23, 2025.
Joseph (Joe) Francis Robichaud, son of the late Francis & Margaret Robichaud, was born on October 21, 1954 in Truckee, California. He was called home to God on March 9, 2025 in Carmichael, California.

Joe grew up in Sacramento, California and attended St. Ignatius Grammar School. As a teenager, he loved being on the high school wrestling team and graduated from Encina High School in 1972. He later graduated from CSU Sacramento with a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice. Robo, as he was known by, had a successful 22 year career with the California Department of Corrections working at Folsom State Prison.

Joe always had a great passion for the outdoors. He loved spending his free time hunting, fishing, boating and camping. He especially enjoyed spending this time outdoors with friends and family. In his latter years, Joe cherished sharing a meal with friends, family and even strangers at some of his favorite restaurants. He loved connecting with people.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Stephen, and brothers in law, Roberto and Mike. He is survived by his daughter, Natalie Howery; son-in-law, Brandon Howery; grandsons, Jackson, Grant and Reid; brother, Michael and Neoma Robichaud, sister, Daphne Robichaud; sister, Charlene Puentes; sister, Mary and Tom Davis; sister, Peggy Sargenti; sister, Paula Robichaud; sister, Teresa and Jeff Babcock, as well as 12 nieces and nephews, 26 great-nieces and great-nephews and 1 great-great-niece.

Joe was a one-of-a kind guy who lived big and loved big. He will always be remembered as one who loved his family dearly. He will also be remembered by many for his generosity and his willingness to lend a helping hand.

We will miss him dearly, but we're assured that he has earned his eternal reward. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 5 at 11am at the Church of God in Carmichael.

Joe, thank you so much for always being so helpful and caring. Thanks for your efforts in trying to get me access to explore the Folsom Prison Cemetery. I wish you were here to see how good your San Francisco Giants are doing this season thus far. Thanks for being one of my mom's best friends all the way to the end. I'll see you some day, Blessings!

Joe, the orchid you gave me eight years ago is currently blooming in you honor. Seems like a miracle. May you rest in peace. I love you, your sister Daphne.
