Joseph E. Senawaitis, 87, of Mar Lin, died with his family at his side Friday evening at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street, where he received kind and compassionate care by the sixth floor staff.

Born in Crescentville, Branch Township, he was a son of the late Anthony and Anna Sherksness Senawaitis.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather; and will be missed by all who knew him.

Preceding him in death were his wife of 60 years, the former Wanda Gober, in 2005; a daughter, Nancy Weaver, and her two children, Mark and Matthew Weaver, all in 2005; a brother, Anthony Senawaitis; a sister, Mary Shebakis.

Surviving are two daughters, Anita, wife of James Jensen, North Canton, Ohio, and Gloria, wife of Francis Mullin, Langhorne; a son, John Senawaitis, and his wife, Beth, Mar Lin; seven grandchildren, Gregory and Phillip Jensen, Stephanie Lose, Lindsay Hessler, Scott Mullin, and Joseph and Ryan Senawaitis; three great-grandchildren, Andrew and Justin Lose, and Elise Jensen; two sisters, Clara Verracco and Anna Rusnak, both of Orwigsburg; nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Matthew Church. Relatives and friends may call from 6 p.m. Monday and from 6 to 9 a.m. Tuesday at Dutcavich Funeral Home, Minersville. Interment will be in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Branch Township.
