Joshua Bouts Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 9, 2024.

Joshua Tyler Bouts, or Josh, or "Fish", age 34, passed away in his apartment in Englewood, Colorado. He was born Saturday, March 18, 1989, in Denver, Colorado. His death was recorded Friday, March 1, 2024.

Joshua was born a fraternal twin to his younger sister Ellie, just 7 minutes apart. At 3 years of age Josh had open heart surgery at Denver Childrens Hospital where he received a new heart valve and his first pacemaker.

His love of reptiles started at an early age, having the reptile man for his birthday parties; holding pythons, lizards, turtles and more.

Josh became a soccer 'fiend', extracurricular to grade school. As a middle-schooler he loved the challenge of Webelo scouts. Josh played the saxophone in the school band, and took pride in playing the Jurassic park theme song without knowing how to read sheet music.

At age 14, due to a dislodged wire, he received a pacemaker replacement

High School study was a real challenge, but college-level technical study of car engines was a delight. Josh was a thinker. He dabbled in book & blog writing with some video blogging, becoming somewhat of a computer user techie.

Joshua graduated Littleton High School. Josh went to Arapahoe Community College as a high school extension to learn and work on cars, which took him into adult employment. He worked at Raceway Lube for several months, and then continued his love of cars with working at Big O Tires, providing a much more diverse work-and-learn environment, and where he made lots of "life-long" friends. Josh went to Bandimere Speedway whenever he could, and tinkered at keeping his 4Runner 4-by-4 going and sounding good.

Josh enjoyed soccer team play well into adulthood, often joining "pick-up" games, and showing off his inverted bicycle-kick when he got to practice/play at Rapids field. He enjoyed tinkering at car-detail improvement. Josh loved kids, and wanted one of his own; he spoke of a wish to bring a grandchild to his parents.

Josh was mostly a Lonely Heart, perhaps unfairly so, but he was always open and his heart was so big. Josh was always available to assist, especially with broken cars, but also with yard or home detail. And Joshua loved his Whisky,

Josh took his Mech-Tech skills to work at Cedar Creek Lumber as a ForkLift Operator & Specialty Lumber Load & Balance Tech/SME. Then he went to NOVA Metal Fabrication as a Tech & Ops Specialist, but his heart difficulties caused some fainting spells that prevented continued work there. Josh went through a rough period where regular employment was difficult, and he did odd jobs like car repair and yard work, and home painting, too. He worked a short time in an Assisted Living home as a caregiver, but a winter cold and his weakness caused his departure there. He last worked at McSwain Metal Fabrication as a Tech & Service Delivery Shop/Ops/Logistics Manager. Just like at NOVA, Joshua was promoted at McSwain 3 times in his first months on the job.

Josh enjoyed family vacations at Disney in California and Florida, on the Bouts Kansas farm, and once to Hawaii. Josh's favorite seemed to be a trip to the Florida Keys at around age 11, which included deep-sea fishing on a 'party boat'.

Josh enjoyed and loved the family dog, Jack (since passed), and his sister's dog, Chloe. Dog Toby and Budgie Snicklefritz were childhood pets.

Joshua is survived by family:

Lucas Christopher, 38, single

Ellen Ashley, Josh's fraternal twin, single

Parents Cory and Tom, old Littleton, Colorado

Grandmother Betty, in a Lakewood nursing home.

Josh is the classic Millennial (don't tell him I said so…), vested in his life of family and friends, but a source of inspiration for a much wider social network community from which he also took much inspiration.

"The best things in life are the people we love, the places we've been and the memories we've made along the way."

Josh was an outspoken advocate of Jordan B. Peterson's 42 Rules for Life.

Joshua Tyler Bouts might be best remembered for always loving and giving, no matter his personal challenges.

Josh and I would have battles to see who could out do the other! Say like stereo equipment!
He would pick up a nice set of speakers! And I would have to out do his find! Or he would find a drone! And he would tell me to top that find! We went at it for weeks! But the bond him and I made will never be forgotten!

This man was one of the best people I've ever had the privilege of having the pleasure and privilege of knowing truly the world is at a great loss with out his presence. Words cannot describe how truly special and brilliant and giving this man was was deserving of a peace prize or something even greater than that. I can't say that I've ever known a better human being. You and your family are in my heart and prayers no possible way to ever forget you my friend. If there anyone at all on this planet that would be deserving of a high place in heaven it would be this man truly an angel
