Joshua Garner Obituary
Mr. Joshua Neal Garner, age 31, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017. Joshua was born June 17, 1986 in Yadkin County to Stanley Neal Garner and Angela Stanley Talley.
Joshua was a member of Faith Highway Ministries, a first responder with Jonesville Fire Department and an employee of Fairfield Inn.
Joshua was preceded in death by his grandfather, Benny Cockerham; cousin, Justin Russell; and step-grandfather, Trent Gilmore.
Survivors include: father, Stan Garner and Julie Harris of Statesville; mother, Angie Talley and husband Jason of Jonesville; maternal grandmother, Janice Nelson Stanley; maternal grandfather, Ricky Stanley and wife Lisa; paternal grandmother, Shelby Gilmore of Elkin; paternal grandfather, Bobby Lee Garner and wife Conni of Statesville; aunts and uncles, Kasius and Amanda Stanley of Elkin, Tonia and Ricky Jones of Hamptonville, Michael and Erin Cockerham, Kathy Garner of Dillard, GA, and Todd and Debbie Garner of State Road; step-aunt, Dana Layell and husband Scottie of Boonville; cousins, Kelsea Beamer, Bailey Stanley, Olivia Stanley, Brooke Adams and Morgan Johnson,
A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Ricky Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

I worked with Josh a long time ago at Lewis Furniture in Elkin. He was always a joy to be around. And although this has been many years ago, I still remember his quirks and jokes to this day. He always made me laugh. I am so sorry to hear this news. May God grant you peace, comfort and love during this time.
