Joy Boren Obituary
Joy Irene Tidwell Boren, 92, passed away peacefully on November 6th, 2012, in Mesa, Arizona. She was born June 8th, 1920, to Archie Ronald and Mary LaVina Sperry Tidwell in Hiawatha, Utah. Her early childhood was spent in Nephi, Utah, before her family moved to American Fork.
She married Carl Boren October 2nd, 1940. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Temple. They enjoyed 67 years together before Carl preceded her in death on May 24th, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and a granddaughter.
Joy is survived by her three children: Bonnie (Dale) Carroll Mesa, Arizona; Jerry (Laura Lee) Boren, Lehi, Utah; Betty Lu (Richard) Merkley, American Fork, Utah. She has 16 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. She loved her family.
Friends and family may attend a viewing at Anderson and Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North in American Fork on Sunday, November 11, from 6 to 8 pm. A family memorial will be held Monday, November 12th at 11:00am with interment at the American Fork City Cemetery. Online memories and condolences may be shared at andersonmortuary.com.

Dearest Joy, It was so touching to watch your devoted daughters doing you hair,one last time. You can rest well knowing you raised a family unto the lord. Thank you. Jerry is a wonderful man who will miss you dearly. as always, Laura Lee

Our Alabama Birmingham mission has only just started; Aunt Joy has finished her mission, being welcomed home with the words, "Well done thou good and faithful servant."
