Joyce D Hoelscher

Joyce D. Sladek Hoelscher, 80, of San Angelo, Texas passed away peacefully Friday, October 19, 2012, at her residence with her loving husband by her side. She was born August 23, 1932 to Victor and Anna Kneblik Sladek in Taylor, Texas - Williamson County. She was united in marriage in Rowena, Texas on June 15, 1949 to Emmitt Hoelscher of Norton, Texas, the son of Reinhold and Mary Franke Hoelscher. Joyce lived most of her life in San Angelo and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to dance, read, sew, and many types of craft work. A Catholic since age 12, she was a member of Holy Angels Church. She is survived by her husband, Emmitt, and children Yvonne Hoelscher Scott, her husband, Ben of Plano, Texas; Nick Hoelscher, his wife, Cindy of Leander, Texas; Renee Hoelscher of Austin, Texas, and Vicki Hoelscher Hill, her husband, Bruce of Amarillo, Texas. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Amber Scott and Brandon Scott, Brittainy Hill Giese, her husband, Jon, and Connor Hill, and Michael Hoelscher, his wife, Beryl, and three great-grandchildren, Brielle, Blaydon, and Branson Giese. Joyce is survived by one sister Doris Kohutek of Big Lake, Texas, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A very special thank you to Dr. John Hunt for all of his years of dedicated medical care. Thanks to all of the nurses and aids on the third floor of Angelo Community Hospital with a special thanks to Nurse Tammy. Sincere thanks to Hospice of San Angelo and the dedicated team, Shirley Jones, Debbie Bishop and Veronica Dominguez. A rosary service will be held on Friday, October 26th at 7:00PM. A funeral mass in celebration of Joyce's life will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, October 27th at Holy Angles Catholic Church, 2309 A&M Street. Joyce left the following message to all that knew her: "My dear relatives and friends, I hope you will honor me with an occasional thought or prayer. It is my wish to be cremated. If you must bury something, let it be my faults, my weaknesses, and any injustice I may be guilty of. Forgive my sins and ask God to take my soul. If you wish to remember me, do so with a kind deed to a charity or to some in need. If you forget me, only then will I have surely died." The family requests, in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Hospice of San Angelo or the American Cancer Society.
