Juanita M. Riojas

Juanita M. Riojas, 85, peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2017 in Houston, Texas. She was born April 12, 1932 in Sabinas, Coahuila, Mexico to Pantaleón Morales Jimenez and Juanita Flores de Morales. She was predeceased by her parents and numerous brothers and sisters in Mexico. She is survived by her children, Pablo Javier Riojas and wife Gloria, Gina Cristina Flores and husband Joe, Benito Antonio Riojas and wife Maria, Juanita Clementina Rangel and husband Armando, Jesus Humberto Riojas and wife Isabel, Gerardo Homero Riojas and wife Connie, Juan Jose Riojas and wife Lupe, Francisco Rafael Riojas and wife Gina; twenty four grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way; one sister, Rosa Maria Morales Jaramillo; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Juanita received her education at Primaria, Secundaria in Sabinas, Coahulia and she also studied and graduated from Instituto Federal de Capacitación del Magisterio de Coahulia to earn her teacher's certification. She was married on November 16, 1952 and lived in the Southeast part of Houston where she raised her eight children. Juanita later attended the Houston Community College System where she earned her GED and began to work for the Houston Independent School District as a Bilingual Teacher's Aide for approximately 30 years of service. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 5-9 PM with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 10 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church 7539 Avenue K, Houston, Texas. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
