Judith Hruby Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 13, 2025.
Judith Amata Hruby (nee Glock) 89, of Excelsior/Edina, MN, passed peacefully on February 1st. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John. Judy is survived by her five adult children: Greg, Tom, Lisa (Dan), Ann, and David (Angie), and was beloved by her grandchildren Allie, Lauren, Greta, McKinley, Sophia, Abby, Jack, Carter, and Fiona. She is fondly remembered by many extended family members and friends. Judy loved reading, the knowledge, imagination and social interaction it prompted, and competitive games of golf and bridge. When not engaged with historical society affairs in Excelsior and Fernandina Beach Florida where she and John enjoyed many retirement years, Judy organized travel and family gatherings so that all could share her love of adventure in knowing the world and the souls who inhabit it. Her love of travel extended to her grandchildren who received treasured trips to Europe with her, and the stories from those trips are priceless memories. Judy stayed engaged, a little fiery, and loving in her final months. She will be well remembered. A visitation and mass will be held Tuesday, February 25th at St. John the Baptist in Excelsior. Visitation at 10 am, Mass at 11 am, and luncheon to follow in the gathering space. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the The Parkinson's Foundation.

She was wonderful in so many ways. Her dinner parties were great. John was a big help.
Gary and I visited Judy right before we headed south. Good bye dear lady.
John is with you again!

It's not a first memory per se, but I will always remember sleepovers at grandma's house. A glass of coke while we watched Hooke, playing with that green ball in the manicured lawn, and sharing so many stories on the red floral couches. Love you grandma.
