Judith Ann Hughes (Betz) , 89, a resident of Glenwood Springs, died January 29,2025, peacefully at home, with family attending.

Judy was born at the Gilman Hospital, Gilman Colorado on August 7, 1935 to Adelbert Joseph and Anna Benarda (Bottolfson) Betz. Her family moved from East Vail to Marble where she grew up and attended Marble school until 8th grade. With her father's passing, they moved to Glenwood Springs where she graduated from High School. Judy was united in marriage to Harry E. Hughes on June 28, 1953 in Glenwood Springs.

Judy was an Avon representative for 50 years in Glenwood Springs. When she was not busy with Avon she was a member and past worthy president 3 times for the FOE Lodge #215. She was also a member of the Marble Historical Society.

She had a special love of art and tried her hand with oil, pencil and watercolor. In one of her first art classes, she and the classmates, under teacher Dan LeVan, enjoyed it so much they started the Glenwood Springs Art Guild, which launched in 1962.

Her hobbies included gardening, floral arranging, rock hounding, gold panning, crafting, bowling, hunting and fishing.

Daughter: LeAnna Dawn Atkinson

Son Harry Durand (Donna) Hughes

Grand children: Bryan (Angie) Atkinson, Nanett (Jon) Eisenbaugh, Melinda Brown (Jerimy), DJ (Will) Hughes, Dwight (Amber) Hughes, DeAndrea (Jadd) Jacox.

Great Grand children: Lane (Shaella) Alexander, Dakota Atkinson, Clayton (Laura) Brown, Justin (Kalyn) Brown, Vaughan Eisenbaugh, Haiden Atkinson, Tristen Hughes, Jenna Hughes, Viktorya Eisenbaugh, Devin Key, Connor Hughes, Colton Hughes.

Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Husband Harry E. Hughes, infant son Kerry L. Hughes and infant grandson Brent D. Atkinson

Services: Farnum Holt Funeral Home, Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 10:00 am.
