Judith Lee Rasmussen

Judith Lee (Anderson) Rasmussen Jan. 13, l948 - Nov. 28, 2009. Resident of Castro Valley At the age of 61, Judy died at home surrounded by family after a 2½year battle with lung cancer. A 1966 graduate of Castro Valley High School, she earned her BA in Fine Arts from California College of the Arts in Oakland in 1989. As an art teacher for young children, she introduced many mediums such as paper mache, water colors and acrylics with miraculous results. She was very generous with her talents both at the Junior Center of Art and Science and Lakeshore Avenue Baptist Church. Many of her friends have beautiful, often whimsical art in their homes, expressions of her often hilarious sense of humor and down to earth compassion. Judy is survived by her father Arnold Anderson, daughter Tova Alcantara, two granddaughters, Sydni and Tylar, sisters Susan Bradley and Lari Mussatti and a large loving family. A memorial service will be held January 9, 2010 at 1 pm at Lakeshore Avenue Baptist Church, 3534 Lakeshore Avenue, Oakland, CA. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations go toward Lung Cancer Research and Early Detection at the Bonnie J.
