Judy´s love for Pioneer Rest Cemetery continues being protected through the dedicated work of neighbors, board members, a community of history supporters, scouts....their gardening, one of her passions, is keeping it a little jewel on Samuel´s Avenue. I think she´s loving it. May God bless her family and may they take joy in knowing her work hasn´t ended.

I am still trying to locate Judy´s sculpture "Alexander" that used to be in her front yard. Please, can anyone tell me where he is? I´d be forever grateful!

I first knew Judy from Heights where I always thought of her as one of the really pretty girls. Much later in life, our mutual love of Fort Worth history, and in particular, our shared interest in protecting and preserving Pioneer Rest Cemetery, let me know her in a much richer manner. Not only was she generous sharing her time and knowledge of what plants could endure in an atmosphere that offered little sustaining help, no water....she would plant things places in the cemetery, mainly by herself. She helped keep our board meetings congenial, bringing lunch for years to the meetings. Quiet at meetings, she would speak up after hearing reports, to give always good advice and support. She had family buried there, so she had a truly personal attachment. Besides the many artistic gifts that have been spoken of, she was a beautiful gift to the community, at large....and a great mentor for how to be a good citizen. She will be missed.

I met Judy because of her dragon, Alexander. The parents of a good friend lived just down the street, and I saw him when she and I went to visit them. I participate in the wonderful game of geocaching, and I got up the nerve to go up and ask if I could introduce Alexander to my geocaching friends. She was happy to let me do so, and in the 20 years from 2003 to 2023, over 1000 geocachers from all over the world visited Alexander. Judy didn´t know me from Adam, but she was willing to share her joy for life and art via Alexander, with all these people she didn´t even know. I am so sad to hear she has left us, but I know she lives on through everyone she touched even just a little, as she did myself and other geocachers. If there is any way someone could let me know whether Alexander is still around Fort Worth, it would make me very happy. The easiest way would be via email - [email protected] - I dearly hope that someone will let me know where he is.
RIP, Judy, you touched so many with your gifts!

I too knew Judy from Women´s Week at Camp Waldemar. I have never met anyone who had more creativity and spice for life rolled up into one person. Judy just made life so much more fun!

Judy, had a special way of showing us we could all be an artist at Camp Waldemar. My husband knew her in high school. It was through him that we became friends. I am so grateful that she touched my life. She made a difference and will not be forgotten. Blessings to her family.

Judy...herself,a work of art. A Waldemar friend of 30 years, she brought so much creativity, friendship, and energy to our time at WWW. What an honor to have been in her circle of friends. She was loved and will be sorely missed.

Simply heartbroken...We met Judy when my daughter was in middle school, and Judy taught her so much in terms of art during those 4 years. I was fortunate to become Judy's friend during that time. She was a talented and marvelous artist and teacher, and gave of herself tirelessly to teach others, and support students and her community. I suspect she is up in the clouds in plein air, teaching the angels how to paint. Robin and Sienna DelConte

Judy was a Crestwood neighbor, good friend, and excellent art instructor. I learned so much from art classes, as well as enjoying many a lunch, with her fantastic friendship.

I first met Judy many years ago at Camp Waldermar's Women's Week. It was my first time to attend Women's Week, and Judy made a profound impression as she delighted us all with her tap dancing, theatrics, humor, art, and strong spirit! During a darling tap performance she accidentally tap-danced right off the stage and broke her arm! Hours later she returned to camp with her cast and carried on. Upon returning home from camp, three of us decided to dress up her infamous Dragon under cover of darkness. We made a little cast for its arm, gave it a blond wig and Waldemar ballcap, and tiny tap shoes for its dainty feet. From that point on, the dragon was frequently dressed for many occasions. My youngest son attended her art class one summer, and had a marvelous time enjoying the eclectic group of fellow art students young and old.
She will be more than missed. She was one of the strongest heartbeats in Crestwood and exemplified why our neighborhood is so special and beloved.
She was a bright light to all and made the world a better place.

Judy taught me oils and mixed media at the Woman's Club, pottery throwing and illustration at her home studio, and the art of relaxation at Women's Week at the beautiful camp Waldemar. If you had an ember of talent in you she would encourage it, and she spent her lifetime enriching the talents of both the young and the old in Fort Worth. I am forever grateful that she found something inside me to work with. I won't ever forget her telling me and a friend that we would be doing the charicatures for an open house at the Woman's Club. Had we ever done charicatures before? Didn't matter, she would teach us! And she did. Fun and laughter followed. I cannot express the impact wonderful Judy had on others. There was a certainty about her that was undeniable, and she was passionate about her people, her art, and her life. It is rare to meet someone with so much zest and passion. May you rest in peace, dear Judy. But if you are up there with the angels suggesting they need more color to their white robes...well that wouldn't surprise me at all. With loveand condolences to your and friends. You will be missed.

Judy was such a dear friend, an inspiration to us all. She was such an active force in Woman's Club and Junior Woman' Club through her many talents that included Art and as a Choreographer for many of our JWC Spring Show Variety days. She taught our Tap Class at Woman's Club for many years when it started a new Department that was added to the Club. Judy was such an important lady with so many talents. She was so fun and funny with a great sense of humor and made you feel so special. She will be dearly missed. Prayers go out to her family.

I had the HONOR of knowing Judy at Waldemar Womens Week for over 30 years. She was a force of nature and a multitalented lady who could hold her own in any art studio and any dance floor. She had a dry wit and a big heart and a generous spirit, sharing her creativity with so many of us. Hers was a life well lived and she will be missed.
