Julie Margaret Rogers-Bertolucci, "Most Marvelous Mema", age 67, of Catskill, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Health Care Alliance in Kingston, New York. Julie was born January 4, 1957 in Elmhurst, New York, the daughter of the late Neville and Edith (Urban) Rogers.

Julie is survived by a daughter Ashley (Bertolucci) Margielewski and husband Marcin; a granddaughter, Alice Margielewski, whom she adored; her spouse, Frank Bertolucci Jr.; a sister, Sandi Ashley and husband Rickey; a step-daughter, LaReina (Ray) Bertolucci; several cousins, niece, nephew, friends who were like family to her, and her beloved pets: Sheldon (her Knight in Slimy Armor), Jibby, and Jabby.

Julie was a young spirit within an old soul; armchair activist; animal lover; tree hugger; and diehard Star Wars Trekkie. She was an amazing mother and grandmother and will be missed beyond measure. As per her wishes, there will be no formal services and her loved ones will continue to honor her life every day. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Columbia Greene Humane Society, Humane Society Road, Hudson, New York, 12534. May the force be with her.

I met Julie on a family search forum. We realised we were part of the same family and started e mailing each other. We became friends. In 2012 my husband and I met Julie and her family in New York. It was a wonderful day. I miss her very much. We told each other our hopes and fears. She was my cousin and friend.

She was a special lady. When we moved to Pennsylvania, she sent me some information about fracking because she was concerned and wanted us to know. I appreciated and enjoyed much of the information she shared on that topic and others. we didn´t always connect and agree on every topic, but we were always able to find common ground I believe. I always remember her Tofurkey at Thanksgiving dinner. She was ahead of her time in many ways. She had a very distinct voice and laugh. I can hear it now.

My first memory of Julie is her with a mega phone on the playground at recess when I was in elementary school as she was wrangling thousands of children with class and always a sharp sense of humor!
