He was preceded by the death of his mother, Benigna Gomez Gomez , his father, Dimas Lopez Testa, his brothers Carlos Lopez(Sandra), Ricardo Lopez and Dimas Lopez, and his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia Dieck Lopez. He left behind a beautiful sister, Rosario Lopez ,residing in Panama and who introduced 'Pat and Julio.' Julio truly left a legacy and will be truly be missed by many especially his kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was the loving genuine father of Julio Lopez Jr (Tiffany), Sherry Gremillion(Daryl), the late Anna LaCour (Roddy), Lisa Lopez and Julie Gugliuzzi (Andrew). He mostly loved to dance and play with his grandchildren: Brittany (Brad), Charles (Britnie), Erica, Anna Patricia, Gabriella and his great grandchildren: Tayla, Riley, Skyler, Nova, Ezra and Raiden.

Julio had a love for fishing, hunting and trap shooting. He belonged to the Louisiana Trapshooting association and won plenty of awards. He was a great trap shooter and Hopefully one day will be considered in the hall of fame.

Julio was from Panama City, Panama and his love for that country is undeniable. He will truly be missed by many family and friends (too many to mention) in US and Panama. Hearing stories of Julio, he was an amazing dancer. I know he was definitely an amazing husband and dad. Please leave stories on this site because I know we haven't heard the best of them... All I know is that he is now with his wife Patsy, in heaven dancing and enjoying life with his brothers and his daughter Anna.. Julio, you were one of a kind and left a mark in everyone's heart!

Mr. Julio was a cool man who loved to talk. He talked about his wife the most! Whenever he was in the hospital i would fuss with him about smoking...He had no fear in his heart, he also made it very clear what he wanted. May he rest in peace & love! my condolence to his family! you all were a pleasure to meet

Julie and your siblings' Patrick and I won't to express our deepest condolences too your family's. It's been so long since we shared Legend St. residences. Katrina widened the distance to our friendships. There is so many good memories of your father and your mom. When Stephanie and Brittney played together with Chuckie. When your dad would visit our house to visit Patrick. When you gave your mom and dad their anniversary party. Visiting your mom at the hospital when she was sick. Learning that Anna too was sick. Your family has gone through so much. I am so sorry that we weren't able to see Poncho as your dad was sometimes called. May God give him peace and he and your mom will be together again. God Bless yawl and I will have masses said for him.
