June Rose Sullivan was born August 4, 1931, in Murray, India, a British Colony at that time. She was the eldest daughter of Laurence and Odessa (Roberts) Sullivan of London, England. She lived in India, Egypt, and England before traveling to America in 1957 aboard the Queen Mary. She was employed for several years by the Bank of America in London.
While visiting her best friends Brenda and Dave Ford in Davenport, she met her future husband, Johnny S. Freemire. They were united in marriage on May 14, 1958. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1980.
Johnny and June owned and operated several businesses, most notably Signature Lawns Ltd., which they started in 1968 and where June had continued to work until this year. She loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends. She loved her English Club friends, affectionately known as "the girls."
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Lori Freemire, Bettendorf, and their children, John, Ian, and Spencer; sister and brother-in-law, Wendy and Edward Kujalowicz, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and nieces and nephews, Cathy Parker, Donna Crane, Paul Kujalowicz, Joann Ali, Judy Moldenhauer, Ed Kujalowicz, and Moira Marie McGregor.
In addition to her husband, June was preceded in death by her oldest son, Patrick Freemire, her sister, Moira Davey, and her parents.

Dear Mike and Lori, I was saddened to learn of June's passing on the 16th. June was like another Mum to the Ford kids--Steve and I were at her home when our baby sister, Debbie, arrived home from the hospital with Mom and Dad. And when JFK died, school let out early and we headed to the Freemires. June was such a part of our family and pictures of the family with the English side, always included her. Her friendship with Mom taught me the beauty of women's friendships. And the bonds of sisterhood were so evident with Moira, June, and Wendy (and Mrs. Sullivan, of course) Seeing June at Dad's funeral in April brought a flood of tears, as she was such a link to our past and to our parents. I will truly miss her and only hope she knew how important she had been in our lives. love from Paula

Mike

Rae and I were sad to hear about your loss. Even though we never met your mom, we're sure she was a great lady based on the quality of her son. We won't be able to attend the services but our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

My condolences to Mike and family. I enjoyed my employment with Signature Lawns and considered June a dear friend instead of a boss. I marveled how she never lost her English accent.
