June Murray Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Apr. 20 to Apr. 26, 2020.
June (Baronick) Murray

On April 7th, 2020, June (Baronick) Murray passed away in Westlake Village, CA at the age of 85 after battling ALS. Born in 1935 in Cedar Grove, PA to Rudy and Stella Baronick, June moved to Ohio after graduating high school and in her early twenties met US Air Force pilot Thomas Murray on a blind date. They married on February 15th, 1958, and spent the early years of their marriage moving from state to state as Tom was stationed at various air force bases around the country. They settled in Southern California in 1968 with their three children Mike, Marci and Kelly. In 1974, June began a highly successful career in real estate sales and management that lasted 46 years. Her slogan, "For a Touch of Class," fit her perfectly. June was elegant, always perfectly put together, smart and incredibly generous. She valued family above all else, joining everyone for holidays, always putting extra thought and special touches into every gathering. She loved to travel, surprising her family with tickets to Maui, or a cruise, or trips back home to stay connected with their Pennsylvania relatives. She had an incredible group of friends, especially the "Mystery Group," who took turns surprising the other members with unusual and creative outings, and for years rang in the new year together in exotic locations. She had a gift for bringing people together and making everyone feel special. She was a mentor to many, and to some she was their "West Coast Mom," to others their "adopted mom," or their "military mom." June was respected, loved and admired by everyone who knew her, and adored by her family.

June is survived by Tom, her husband of 61 years; her son Michael, daughter Marci, daughter Kelly and son-in-law Tipper; her grandchildren, Tyler and fiance Alexa, Trace and Hailey; step-granddaughter Jennifer, Patrick, and three great-grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Harold Dalfol, and nieces, nephews and cousins in Pennsylvania. June was laid to rest on April 14th at Pierce Brothers in Westlake Village, CA. A celebration of her life will be planned at a future date.

I remember Mrs Murray from many years back as the always elegant mom of my childhood friend Kelly. I remembered piling into her light blue bug with Kelly, Mike, Marci and a friend each and going to the movies. I also remember the Murray family watching my sister and I for the week my parents went house shopping for our move to Virginia and I got really sick. June took me to the doctor and took good care of me that week letting Kelly stay home "sick" one day to keep me company.
Such fond memories. RIP June.

With much sadness and deepest condolences, we would like to wish the Murray family much Love and all Aloha at this difficult time.
June was the best among us, a rare and exceptional human being that had a way of making you feel important and cared about no matter how busy she was. And she was always busy.
Like a second Mom to me and so many others, I am honored to have been counted as a trusted friend by this remarkable woman.
God Bless and God Speed June, thank you sincerely for the lifetime of kindness, fidelity and unflinching integrity that always came so naturally from you. You rocked this life!!!
