June E. Saeger, age 83, of Litchfield died on Thursday, May 6, 2010, at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 PM on Monday, May 10, 2010 at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home. A private family funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2010. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield.
June Elizabeth Saeger, the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth (Steinkraus) Dombrouski, was born on December 1, 1926, in Mankato, Minnesota. She grew up in the Granite Falls area and graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1944. On August 19, 1947 she was united in marriage to John L. “Jack” Saeger at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Granite Falls. June was a wonderful home maker that raised her 6 children before working outside her home. She was an executive house keeper with the Granite Falls Hospital from 1965 until they moved to Litchfield in 1971. She came to Litchfield to work as the executive house keeper at the Meeker Memorial Hospital; a position she held until retiring in 1988. She was an active member of the National House Keeping Association acting as President and Treasurer of the Minnesota chapter. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. June enjoyed flowers, gardening, music, quilting and sewing. She also enjoyed animals and almost always owned a dog. The most important thing to June was her family and she cherished all the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Jack Saeger of Litchfield, children; Ron (and Nancy) Saeger of Fargo, Richard Saeger of Riceville, Iowa, Kent (and Kate) Saeger of Litchfield, Beth Oberg of Litchfield, Scott (and Maribeth) Saeger of West Allis, WI, and Val (and Donald) Hector of Big Lake. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Terry (and Lisa) Saeger, Matt (and Michelle) Saeger, Sarah Saeger, Carrie (and Nathan) Brecht, John Kleven (and Jamie Parish), Justin Oberg, Kristin Saeger, Jeffrey Saeger, Korie (and Rich) Anderson, Jessica (and Shane) Blair, and Joe Hector, great grandchildren; Ian, Hannah, Bailey, Brady, Bethany, Mattie, Henry, June, Morgan, Parker, Owen and Dawson. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Albert Dombrouski, Jr.
