Justin Daniel Demary, 25, of Iowa, LA, passed away tragically on Monday, February 22, 2021.

Justin was born May 10, 1995 in Lake Charles, LA, raised in Grand Lake, LA and later moved to Iowa, LA, where he graduated from Iowa High School in 2013.  He attended Pearl River Community College and graduated from Minot State University, where he received his degree in Corporate Fitness with a minor in Spanish.  Justin was a Nationally Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), previously worked for Heilman’s Performance, and later interned at Cressey Sports Performance in Jupiter, FL and at Driveline Baseball in Kent, WA.  He hit a homerun when he landed his dream job as a strength and conditioning coach in the Boston Red Sox Minor League System, until the pandemic cut his dreams short and he returned home.

Justin was an amazing and accomplished baseball player.  He played on various travel baseball teams throughout his life, for Grand Lake and Iowa High Schools and as #6 for Pearl River Community College, Minot State University, Acadiana Cane Cutters and BCBL in Myrtle Beach, SC.  Although Justin was an only child, his friends were his brothers, whether from baseball, hunting or fishing.  He enjoyed time spent with the Haydels Duck Hunting Community, loved hunting and fishing at all the various places he lived, and was great at all that he put his heart and soul into.  Justin will truly be remembered as a hard worker, great listener, and an amazing guy with a beautiful soul; to know him was to love him.  He served as a role model to many and will forever be missed.

Justin leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Daniel “Danny” and Tammy Demary of Iowa, LA; his girlfriend, Sydney Prigge of Gig Harbor, WA; grandmothers, Carol Demary of Lake Charles and Martha Hampton of Iowa, LA; great-grandmother, Annie Marie Demary of Grand Lake, LA; aunt, Aimee Brasseaux and husband Dallas of Longville, LA; uncles, Jason Hampton and wife Anita of Sulphur, Jeff Hampton of League City, TX, Roger Demary and wife Laurel of Seabrook, TX, Tom Demary and wife Candace of Houston, TX, and Randy Demary and wife Lindsay of Davis, CA; along with numerous cousins, other family members, friends and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jerry Demary and Thomas Hampton; and cousins, Connor Hampton and Eileen Demary.

Visitation will be at Lake City Baptist Church on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM.  Visitation will continue on Friday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.  His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Lake City Baptist Church, 3940 Holly Hill Road, Lake Charles, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Father Wayne LeBleu will officiate.  Burial will follow in Sallier Cemetery.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. Justins passing is still a hard thing for me to get over and comprehend but his impact will be everlasting. The eagerness and hunger he brought to work last spring left a mark on me in the short time I got to know him and he will never be forgotten. Please accept my condolences during this difficult time.

I can’t believe your gone Justin. You were just becoming a mentor to me in the field of personal training and the sports world. I miss the times me you and connor wrestled and you two always beat me. I’m going to miss your presence during the holidays as It doesn’t seem real to me yet. I love you and I miss you, I know Connor and Grandad were among the first to welcome you to heaven.

To the entire Demary family, i am so sad for your loss of such an amazing young man. I was so excited for his future, especially as part of our team here with the Red Sox. His short time here left an impression on our strength staff and we already counted him as part of our family. He lived with passion and chased a life he loved. His soul is in a better place where he can continue to tell jokes and talk baseball.

My thought and prayers go out to all of Justin’s family, especially the parents. In the short time that I knew him, Justin became a brother to me. We were hired by the Red Sox together, and we leaned on each other as we got adjusted to life on the road. Man, I’d never imagine that our last ride together would be so soon. You shall forever be missed brother.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Justin’s family, especially his parents. In the short time I spent with him, we became very close. We got hired by the Red Sox together and leaned on each other each day as we got adjusted to life away from home. Justin became a brother to me. He shall forever be missed.

I had the honor of spending three years in Minot with JD where he became a true friend, teammate, leader and mentor. His welcoming presence made a tough transition to a new school, city and country much easier. JD was the pillar that held our team together as he led us to a championship season, and turned a group of ball players into one big family that has stretched well beyond our playing days. Forever grateful for the time we spent as friends, teammates and brothers, on the field, bus, in the gym, and away the field. Thinking of JD's family and friends during this tough time.

Dear Justin,

You were such a sweet soft spoken person who was always willing to lend a hand or whatever else to those in need. You were an all-star baseball player whome I admired greatly. You had such potential in all that you endeavored. I know that God had a reason to call you to heaven so soon. To us, it was way too soon. You touched so many lives witnessed through the outpouring of love from family and friends from all over the country. I am truly deeply saddened due to your passing. I know my son Connor and Grandad were there to meet you at the gates of heaven. I pray for Tammy and Danny during this solemn time and offer my thoughts and prayers as I know all to well what they are going through. Justin will live on in my heart and mind forever. I love you, Justin.
