Karen Crow Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 2, 2025.
Karen Marie (Gooderl) Crow, 67, of Nampa, ID, went to be with her Lord Jesus on August 26, 2025. She was born in Yakima, WA on December 28, 1957 to Harold & Dorothy Gooderl. She went to school in Yakima, attending Roosevelt Elementary, Franklin Junior High and graduating from Davis High School in 1976. She attended Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, ID for one year (1976-77). She married Donald Crow in Yakima in 1978 and spent the next 47 years with him. They lived in Yakima from 1978-1998, Fort Mill, SC from 1998-2007 and Nampa, ID from 2007 to present.

Karen is survived by her husband Don of Nampa, ID, 3 children and their spouses: Timothy (Amber) Crow of Rock Hill, SC, Tyler (Macey) Crow of Nampa, ID and Tara (Lane) McKinney of Nampa, ID; 6 grand-daughters: Daley Crow, Harper McKinney, Elliot Crow, Willa Crow. Jovie McKinney and Dorothy Crow; and 2 sisters: Cathy (Randy) Freeby of Tumwater, WA and Pam (Doug) Walker of Nampa, ID She was preceded in death by her parents Harold & Dorothy Gooderl and by a grandson Silas Crow. Karen fulfilled her dream of being a mother and grandmother. She dearly loved each of her children and grandchildren. Her family was her calling and she loved, protected, nurtured, fought for, sang to and cared for them. Seeing each of her family follow Jesus was a highlight of her life and a reflection of the Christlike love that she showed each of them. She was an incredible Mom and Nana. She loved to sing, starting as a child around the piano in the Gooderl home with her Mom, Dad and sisters. She sang in the choir at Davis High School and in college at NNC. She sang on worship teams and choirs of the churches she attended and was a choir director for several years. She sang to her children and grandchildren constantly. God gave her this wonderful gift that she used so powerfully. She attended Bethel Nazarene Church in Yakima with her family as a child and teenager where she gave her life to the Lord. After marrying Don, they attended First Nazarene Church, West Valley Church and Vineyard Christian Fellowship, all in Yakima, Lakeshore Community Church in Tega Cay, SC and Crossroads Community Church in Nampa, ID.

Karen was a wonderful neighbor and friend. We would get out and walk some and she would text and say I am going to Starbucks can I bring you anything. Always thinking of others , checking on me when I was sick. Beautiful person inside and out. Don , we are so sorry for you , the kids and grandkids. We are praying for you and only 2 houses away if we can do anything. I know she is singing with her Mom and Dad right now. She shared those stories with me. Take Care, Bob and Norma George
