Karen Dobson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 22, 2025.
Karen Dorothy Dobson, born on December 29, 1949, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, in Surprise, Arizona.

Karen was the beloved wife of Ted Dobson and a devoted mother to Erika Holguin and Kevin Dobson. She was a loving mother in law to Jaime Holguin and Erin Dobson. She was the cherished grandmother of Kara Slivka, Jack Slivka, Quinn Dobson, and Ava Holguin. Karen was the daughter of Everett and Dorothy Eastlund and a loving sister to Robert Eastlund and Margaret Hamman.

Karen grew up in the Chicago area and attended Mercy High School. She went on to study at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, where she earned her bachelor's degree. It was during her time at Bradley that she met her husband, Ted, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love and shared memories.

Karen found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She also had a passion for baseball, enjoyed reading, and loved challenging herself with brain teaser games.

Her warmth and dedication to family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind.

Erika and Kevin, my deepest sympathies on your mom´s passing. She will always be Mrs. Dobson to me, who made me my first "American" dinner and baked amazing brownies and who I got to stay in touch with over the years on Facebook. She will be missed but I trust that she´s already laughing at something your dad is saying. Love to you both, always.
