Kathy was such an essential part of life in City View Towers. She did so much for all of us: her long tenure here and the time she spent in our common spaces made her the building´s unofficial `information desk.´ She served on our Tenant Council and continued to participate in Council business even after she resigned. She volunteered to be a companion for a number of our residents. She worked in the Café and the Tenant Council store. She worked for the Meals on Wheels lunch program and our volunteer food bank. She made it a point to get to know new residents and make sure that they got answers to any of their questions. She did the gardening in our courtyard planter boxes. She decorated our Common Room for every holiday year-round, oftentimes by herself. She organized our summer beach trips. She kept track of everyone who lost money in our vending machines and contacted the company when they needed restocking. She helped to organize our weekend non-denominational services.
On a more personal note, she was the first person to reach out to me when I first moved in and became my first friend here in the building. She was warm, kind, giving, and selfless. She loved to laugh, reminisce about how the city of Lowell has changed, and share stories about her family. She was so well-loved by everyone in the building and it just won´t be the same without her. She will be loved and missed dearly.
