Katherine Ann "Katie" Grogan

Katherine Ann "Katie" Grogan, age 33, of Hoosick Falls, New York, passed away unexpectedly on September 8, 2024. The family is devastated for Katie's life to be cut short so soon, and she will be forever missed.

Born on November 10, 1990 in Albany, NY, Katie was a dedicated and loyal mother, daughter, sister, cousin and niece, as well as a beloved friend to many in the community. Katie was known for her kind, compassionate, and fun-loving personality. An adventure seeker at heart, she enjoyed hiking, exploring waterfalls, and camping. Her love for cooking, going to the beach, and reading reflected her diverse interests and zest for life. Katie was a wonderful colleague to the team at the Falls Diner, which was really more like family. Her devotion to others made her a cherished presence that cannot be replaced.

Katie is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Rayne Valla; mother Jacqueline A. Reyman of Hoosick Falls, NY, father William (Erin) J. Grogan, Jr. of Pittstown, NY; her siblings, Deanna (Dan) O'Hare, April Allen, Jennifer (Jaime) Ortiz, Elizabeth Grogan, William (Mackenzie) J. Grogan III, Katharine Grogan, Thomas Grogan, and Nicholas Grogan; Aunts and uncles, Rufina Reyman and Jeffrey May, Patricia and Scott Pearson, Dorothy Marcoux and James Harwood. She also leaves behind Evelyn's paternal grandparents Christopher and Harriet Valla, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Katie's life and spirit will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, and her legacy will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

Calling hours will be Monday September 16, 2024 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm at Mahar Funeral Home, located at 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, NY. A celebration of life to honor Katie will immediately follow at the Hoosick Falls Fire House on Main Street. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made for Evelyn's future needs and education by sending to Trustco Bank in Hoosick Falls, NY, made out to Evelyn R. Valla.
