She was always there for us, strong and human. I've just found a snippet of her on video laughing, all in purple.

Sisterhood In the Neighbourhood
June 30, 2015
We want to say how much Kathy will be missed by the Sisterhood in the Neighbourhood group. We are the childhood friends that reconnect on facebook and Kathy was part of it. We had a recent get-together at Cultus Lake with Kathy and cherish that last memory when we laughed and enjoyed seeing one another so much. We are grateful for the time and send our thoughts and prayers out to all that knew her...cause to know her was to love her. We miss her and honor the memories of her friendship in life.

My message should have said Kathy's spirit will sore over all she knew. Val

I met Kathy when she was 6 years old and moved to our neighbourhood. We were all a tight knit group as no one really moved away during the time we were growing up. Kathy was the youngest of all of us and became part of out circle of friends in the hood. We all loved her laugh and carefree ways, she felt secure, like the rest of us, knowing that we would watch her back. We all got along like brothers and sisters, these memories of our childhood have never faded, even after all these years. Kathy was one of a kind, a dedicated friend all she knew. I am so saddened for her loss, prayers and love to her family, Russ and Janet who were very close to her. Your spirit will sore over all she loved. RIP ......Val

I met and got to know Kathy when we were kids, for a short time. I always felt we had "something in common", but as a kid, could not articulate that. I sensed she was good-hearted and caring, and like me, trying to make sense of what might be called confusion. sorry to hear she I gone, and best wishes to those who knew her better than I did. in a way, it is not about how long you are here, but what you do while you are here to make things better , not worse, for others.

My mighty sister. What kind of person, at the age of 24, sacrifices her young adulthood to take care of a troubled 14 year old? She had the courage and fortitude of *ten* men, and a fierce love of life, rebellious in the face of the often cruel circumstances it dealt her. She had a HUGE personality. When I visited recently her laughter could be heard all down the street - all the neighbours knew who she was. I was so comforted to see she had a happy life there. She was securely housed with caring, attentive landlords, enjoyed learning new things with great enthusiasm, still painted and made art, fussed over the cat, started a party wherever we went, and Russ took such good care of her. That recent visit is saving me right now. Thank you Russ, and to bff Janet, and Al & Linda, and everyone who loved her. We are so grateful.

My best friend... Words can't describe the emptiness that I feel. So many memories and laughs and tears. You are missed so much, and will forever be in my thoughts. I await the sign of your presence to let me know you are at peace. Until we meet again...I love you
