Katherine M. McCusker Lowell, formerly of Tewksbury; 63 Lowell Katherine L. "Kathy" (Johnson) McCusker, age 63, a former resident of Tewksbury, died Sunday, August 19, at the Lowell General Hospital, following a courageous two year battle with cancer. She was the wife of John E. McCusker, with whom she had celebrated a 22nd wedding anniversary this past June 29th. She was born in Newburyport, on September 26, 1943, the daughter of the late Murray and Loretta (Sadowski) Johnson. She was raised in Amesbury, and graduated from Amesbury High School. She had lived in Tewksbury from 1967 until moving to Lowell in 1984. She was employed at Marshall's in Tewksbury before moving to Poor Simon's in Westford. She had also co-owned a Ceramics Studio in Littleton. She had worked in the administrative offices of Wal-Mart in Chelmsford until illness forced her retirement. She was a crafter, and had participated in many craft fairs. She was also a talented artist in multiple mediums. As a resident of Tewksbury, she was an active "Band Mother." She had several hobbies including flower gardening and genealogy, and was an original fan and season ticket holder for the Lowell Spinners Baseball team. She also had a lifelong love for Hampton Beach. She is survived by five children, Lauri Marble of Auburn, WA, Patricia Chagnon and her spouse Hilary Anderson of Haverhill, Jodi Salerno and her husband Michael of Derry, NH, Jonathan McCusker of Block Island, RI, and Patrick McCusker of Salem, NH; a brother, Murray W. Johnson and his wife Cheryl of Auburn, WA; two grandchildren, Brendan and Melissa Salerno of Derry, NH; and her beloved cat "Simba;" and several nices and cousins in both New England and Washington. McCUSKER Katherine M., of Lowell, formerly of Tewksbury and Amesbury, Aug. 19, beloved wife of John E. McCusker. Relatives and friends will be received Thursday evening, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the TEWKSBURY FUNERAL HOME, corner of Dewey and Main Sts. (Rte 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, phone (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. A Memorial Service will follow on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Newburyport, will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Cancer Center at Lowell General Hospital, c/o Development Office, 295 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854 will be appreciated.

Dear John, It has been many years since Kate, and you and I worked together at Marshalls. The three of us had quite a few laughs together.
