Kathleen Patricia (Maxey) Chidester, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, 21 May 2025, at Holbrook Healthcare Center in Buckhannon, West Virginia. Born 30 August 1939 in Potlatch, Idaho to Roy Edward and Catherine Ann (Reardon) Maxey, the family later moved to Sacramento, California while Pat was in high school.

They moved to England 10 days after the wedding where John had been assigned. They later settled in various cities around Sacramento, California before moving to Rock Cave, West Virginia upon retirement.

Pat loved her family and took care of her parents whom she moved back to West Virginia with her and her husband and youngest son. She had a deep love for animals and owned numerous cats and dogs which she had rescued.

Pat is survived by her husband of 59 years, John David Chidester, two sons Robert (Michelle) Jones and Joel Edward Jones, four grandchildren - Ryan (Jaquel), Caitlin, Chelsea and Fallon and three great-grandchildren - Violet, Hugh and Poppy. She is also survived by a niece, Diane, and nephew, Denis. She was preceded in death by her parents, her oldest son, David Wayne Jones, and her only brother, Lee Edward Maxey.

Many thanks go to Fallon for her tireless care of Pat over the last six years while her health was declining.
