Kathleen "Kathy" Johanna Aho Bruss passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, in Waunakee, Wisconsin, with her children by her side.

Kathy was born in Biwabik, Minnesota, to Edwin and Minerva (Koskela) Aho. She was raised in Embarrass, Minnesota, where she graduated from high school. She went on to earn a degree in Business Education from the University of Minnesota Duluth.

After accepting a teaching position, Kathy moved to Webster, Wisconsin, where she met her future husband, Michael "Mick" Bruss. They were married in September 1969 and soon relocated to San Francisco, California, where Mick was stationed at the Presidio. After two years, they returned to Webster to build their home and raise their two children, Dean and Leslie.

Family was the light of Kathy's life. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished time spent with her loved ones. Her strong faith guided her throughout her life.

Kathy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Mick, her parents, her sister, and a brother-in-law. She is survived by her children, Leslie (Chris) Jordan and Dean (Stan) Bruss, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Hannah and Morgan.

A private family service will be held in her honor.
