I am so sorry to the Koos family and all the many friends (incl dogs) that were fortunate enough to enjoy her being. I met her when I was a nurse at her chemo clinic. We became fast friends as she seemed like a cousin to me right off the bat. We 'got' each others' sense of perspective / humor towards life. She was an amazingly good and true friend so readily. She was a good person, talented, bright, strong, compassionate, fun, ... She had many great stories of her life and relished all whom she knew. She is dearly missed. All great love to her in her life after life.

Dear Koos Family, I am so sorry to hear of Kathy's passing. My acquaintance with Kathy spans over 30yrs when we met as young women on the beach. I reached out to Kathy 2 summers ago and was so fortunate to reconnect with her. My husband and I shared 2 wonderful days together with Kathy, which included a memorable fish and chips dinner joined by her very funny dog.We are so sad to hear of her passing and will miss her strong and funny spirit.Much love and condolence to her son. Kathy and I shared a passiong for rescuing dogs. She is my distant cousin and my mother, Ellin Kuenlen thought of her as a daughter. I'm glad I got to visit her and her great danes in Montoloking, NJ several years ago...God only knows if her home is standing after Superstorm Sandy.
I miss our communications and send love to her son and grandsons.

Kathy was an inspiration to those of us who knew her. Her love of life, her affection for her pets, especially the Danes, her sense of humor despite the difficulties of her illness, her work at the Shelter, were just some examples of her generosity of spirit that those who were fortunate enough to know her witnessed. Penny became a cherished part of our family through her efforts. Rest in peace Kathy. You will be missed.

Kathy was a true friend...so supportive. I have so many good memories of things we shared...road trip to Montana with three dogs, many walks on the beach, pottery, sewing; the list is long. She also taught me so much about many things. I cannot express how much I miss her and what a huge loss her death is to me and, I'm sure, many other people whose lives she touched.

Kathy was the big sister I never had. Everywhere I look in my home I see something she gave me, including my wonderful dog Alfie. We had such fun together, so many laughs with our dogs. She was a pal, an inspiration, a confidant. I can't imagine a world without her. But her legacy lives on in our hearts.

I was fortunate to have Kathy as my dear friend for over thirty years. I could not have asked for a better friend to go through life with.
Kathy had a wonderful sense of adventure and was always up for a trip. She loved her dogs (especially the Danes) and there were many of them over the years. Kathy did not come for a visit alone. She was usually accompanied by a entourage of dogs.
I will miss her generous spirit and her crazy sense of humor. She was a talented artist. She loved living in Mantoling and walking the streets with her dogs. Kathy never complained about life's challenges. She just went about the business of enjoying her life.
Thank you for so many years of friendship Kathy.

Kathy & Rosemary took the "Seastreak" to NY City for many months....Kathy to her cancer doctor and Rosemary to hers.....they would compare notes on the boat ride back and even laugh in the face of this adversity....I will always honor both of these Great Ladies!

Kathy and I worked together for many years. She was a powerful woman. She could always make me laugh. Her smile just didn't quit and her intelligence was kept me thinking.

There were so many things that I admired about Kathy. Her love animals and the time she donated to their causes, her creativity, and her ability to get the most out of her students to name just a few of her wonderful qualities. She will be missed and thought of often. We worked side by side for many years as art teachers at Southern. My thoughts are with her family and friends. Kathy Rhau

Kathy and I worked together at Southern Regional. I could always count on her absolute honesty. She was a supporter of my poetry which I will always appreciate and I have a pottery piece of hers that I love which I've hung in every place I've lived. I think of her with great fondness. My prayers are with her family.
