Kathy Kea "Klickie" Aiken

Kathy Kea "Klickie" Aiken, 67, of Saint Simons Island, GA died on February 6, 2018. Klickie adored her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Sarah Barge and Sarah's husband Jonathon and their children Peyton, Abby, and Jonathon, Jr., and by her son Harry Aiken and his wife Natalie Keen Aiken. The biggest pleasure in life for Klickie was spending time with and helping all her family. She is also survived by two brothers: Buddy Kea, Paul Kea and wife Karen. Nephews Trey Kea and his wife Tara and children Peyton and Forrest, Dan Kea, Brad Bailey, Paul Kea, Jr., and his wife Kate and daughter Austyn. Klickie was preceded in death by her father and mother Peyton and Billie Kea and her sister-in-law Lynne Kea.

Born in Richmond, VA, Klickie grew up in Ivor and graduated from Southampton High School. She attended Stratford College and graduated from the University of Georgia where she pledged Kappa Alpha Theta. She lived in Atlanta and Gainesville, Georgia before moving to Saint Simons Island in 1990.

Klickie was our mother, our friend, our cheerleader, our protector, our agent, our voice of reason and our voice of no reason. She was funny beyond description and was the walking definition of courage. She had many, many friends and set a great example of how important it is to honor your friends and make sure they are okay. If someone needed something, she simply did it and often they never knew it was Klickie.

She enjoyed spending time with friends, playing with her grandchildren, any kind of real estate, redoing a house or condo, or tackling a project; there was always something going on. She loved working at Georgia Coast Realty and valued the many relationships she established throughout her twenty years there. Her life and business motto was 'okey doke'. She adored art and taught us to love it too. None of our lives are complete without walls that tell the stories of who we are and what we treasure. Above all else we will treasure the time we had with her. It was not enough for her and it was not enough for us.

Our family is grateful for the outpouring of support we have received during this difficult time. A private gathering will be held on the island and in Virginia for close friends and family to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, Klickie has requested that donations be made in support of America's Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia who focus on initiatives to relieve hunger among the people who are at risk in the region.
