EAGER, Katie Lanell
On February 17, 2015, Katie Lanell Eager was taken from this earth at the young age of 24. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, niece and cousin.
A 2009 graduate of Pine Tree High School, she was Captain of the Drill Team, a member of the National Honor Society and editor of the yearbook.

She was never afraid to follow her dreams. She graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Family Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin. She was proud to be a Longhorn, making sure everyone knew her alma mater.

Katie was recently promoted to Venue Manager at Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline in Cedar Park. She was described by colleagues as a determined, kind-hearted and beautiful young woman with positive energy.

To know Katie was to love Katie. She was extremely passionate about everything she did. She loved her family and friends, her work family and her four-legged baby, VooDoo.

She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Laura and Tommy Rodgers; father and stepmother, Lyle Eager and Christy O'Rear; brother Taylor Eager; her grandmother, her Gigi, Harriett Conner; niece and nephew Copelan and Teagan and their mother Casey Eager; stepsister Lindsey and husband Brad Blanchard; nieces and nephews Cohen, Sage, Ellie, Truett and Holland.

Katie was preceded in death by her grandparents Donna and Doyle Eager, and step brother Landon Rodgers.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Grace Crossing United Methodist Church with Rev. John Whitehurst officiating. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Friday at the Grace Crossing United Methodist Church, 1001 W Hawkins Pkwy, in Longview.
