KEITH CHILDERS Obituary

KEITH E. CHILDERS, 65, of rural Akron, Ind., died on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, 1:40 a.m., at his residence after being in failing health since last April. Born Oct. 26, 1948, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of John and Mary (Parker) Childers. On Sept. 2, 2005, he married Deneice E. McFadden in Mentone, Ind.; she survives in Akron. Keith had served in the Air National Guard for 30 years with his highest rank being Sgt. He also worked for International Harvester of Fort Wayne. He was a graduate of Wolf Lake High School in 1967. Keith also served his country in the U.S. Navy for four years. He enjoyed old movies and short trips, especially to Lake Michigan. Also surviving are his daughter, Sarah Läng of Kusal, Germany; son, Nicolas (Kendra) Childers of Indianapolis, Ind.; grandson, Jonas Läng; and two brothers, David (Dawn) Childers of Wolfboro, N.H. and Michael Childers of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Childers. Service is 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at King Memorial Home, 101 North Tucker St., Mentone, Ind., with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. The Rev. Amber Karkosky-Litten officiating.
