Kelly Hurley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 14, 2020.
Kelly Theresa Hurley transitioned from this world after a long illness on August 22, 2020, in the Maryland home she shared with her beloved wife Karri Lamb. Kelly was 56.

Kelly was born to Pauline T. and James J. Hurley on March 26, 1964 in Landstuhl, Germany, the third of three children. She is survived by her wife, Karri Lamb of Clarkesville, Maryland; her father, James Hurley of Woburn, Massachusetts; her brother Kevin Hurley of Miami, Florida, her sister Cheryl Dressler, Cheryl's husband Rainer and their children David and Caroline of Arlington, Massachusetts, special friends Lori Lewman and Lynda Brunette, and a host of other beloved relatives and friends.

As part of a military family, Kelly lived in many states as a child, including Hawaii, Texas, Florida, and New Hampshire. Her formative years were spent in Salem, New Hampshire, and her adult life in Maryland.

Kelly was a consummate businesswoman, a tech-savvy leader who possessed both extraordinary vision and an ability to connect with and inspire others by seeing the best in them. After many years as president of a software company, Kelly turned to entrepreneurship with the intention of developing businesses with a conscience-businesses for a better world. From clothing with a message (Choose Love) to affordable housing, Kelly conceived of, articulated, shared and manifested her high ideals. A spiritual concept that greatly interested Kelly was the notion of abundance and its availability to everyone who is aligned with and pursuing their heart's desire. She founded ""Faith to Flourish,"" hosting in-person and online discussion groups.
Most recently, Kelly energetically applied the lessons of her experience with long-term illness and conventional medicine in her work as the chair of a steering committee assembled to create a holistic healing alternative.

Kelly's interests were many and varied. She enjoyed the outdoors. She had great fun on a Caribbean cruise in 2018. She enjoyed hiking, and in 2016 walked the West Highland Way in Scotland. She was passionate about social justice, animals and animal welfare, conscious entrepreneurship, politics, history, poetry and all Boston sports teams. Kelly was also deeply spiritual, and wrote a book (in publication) called The Six Principles of Conscious Prosperity. In it she presents a concept that governed her life and her relationships called Ayni, meaning sacred reciprocity:

"Ayni, in one of its many forms, is about equality.
When we practice sacred reciprocity, we look upon each other as equals
and as so, it is an honor to be of service to one another."

All who knew Kelly were blessed to be looked upon in this sacred way- she will be deeply missed.

At this time, Kelly is being memorialized in small groups of family and friends

Kelly's ashes will be scattered off the Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire.

I want to begin by saying, How sorry I am for your loss!! I knew Kelly back at Salem High School in Salem, New Hampshire. Things I read on Kelly in her obituary were exact. Kelly's obituary was so exact about Kelly. The Kelly I knew loved life in general, family, animals. animal welfare, outdoors, hiking, all Boston sports teams.

I never forgot how so special Kelly was in High School when she always made attempts to come to my baseball games to support me when I was pitching. I guess I always knew she was their even when I couldn't see her every time.

It was appropriate that Kelly had her ashes scattered off the Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire. That was Kelly be part of nature and the beauty up North.

One thing is for sure and that is, No matter where you are. Karri, family and friends, Kelly will always be their in love and spirit.
