Kenneth Maryai, age 78 of Homer City, died Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
He was born in 1941 in Elders Ridge to Michael and Beatrice Blankenship Maryai.
Mr. Maryai was employed by Z & L Lumber of Indiana for 27 years. He later worked for Gatti Pharmacy for 19 years. He was also co-owner of the Clarksburg Valley Inn for five years.
Ken loved gardening, watching football games, carpentry work, and taking his wife of 60 years to the casino. He especially enjoyed cooking for family gatherings and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Janet (Brosko) Maryai, Homer City; five children - Terri Cochran and husband David, Homer City; Christine Heltzel and husband Chad, York; Kimberly Bendis and husband Roger, Creekside; Kenny Maryai and wife Robin Mlakar, Homer City; Michael Maryai, Blairsville; seven grandchildren - Jason Rogel, Stephanie Rogel Kellar and husband Larry, Kristy Bendis, Michael Maryai, Roger Bendis, III, Marina Heltzel and Sarah Maryai; four great grandchildren - Haley and Jacob Kellar, Nicholas and Danielle Rogel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Michael “Junior” Maryai and a sister Janet Machak.
Funeral services will be private and under the direction of Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. Private interment will be made in the Iselin Union Cemetery.
Ken will be sadly missed by his wife Janet and by family and friends.
