Kenneth G. Pfeiffer
Kenneth G. Pfeiffer, 81, of New Baden, Ill., born Nov. 19, 1924, in Summerfield, Ill., died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Kenny worked hard all of his life and retired after a lifetime of doing big jobs and little jobs, including farming,
mechanic, welding, construction and sales. Following his son Kent's death, he helped run his business in Long Beach, Calif. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kent Pfeiffer and his daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Pfeiffer on Feb. 27, 1993; his parents, Gilbert and Anna, nee Anheuser, Pfeiffer; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Cora Siegrist.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Jane "Sig", nee Siegrist, Pfeiffer, whom he married March 26, 1949, in Highland, Ill.; a daughter, Susan (Donald) Rafalowski of Fairview Heights, Ill.; two grandchildren, Jill Marie Rafalowski and Luke Adam Rafalowski; a sister, Betty Osborne of O'Fallon, Ill.; and a brother-in-law, Richard L. (Betty) Siegrist of Carmel, Calif.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and will be received at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hempenfuneralhome.com

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, at Hempen Funeral Home, New Baden, Ill.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, at St. George Catholic Church, New Baden, Ill., with the Rev. Donald Blaes officiating. Interment will be private.
