Kenneth Schweigert Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 12, 2025.
Mr. Kenneth Raymond "GOR" Schweigert, 76, passed away on August 8, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri. Born on January 14, 1949, in Ozora, Missouri, Kenneth lived a life marked by dedication to family, hard work, and quiet acts of selflessness.

Kenneth earned his mechanical engineering degree from Rolla and went on to build a successful career in the mining industry. His work took him and his family across the country, offering them new experiences and opportunities while he contributed his expertise to a demanding field. Even after retirement, when a project called for extra funds or attention, he returned to consulting at Penta Engineering-always ready to lend his skills where they were needed.

At the heart of Kenneth's life was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda C. Schweigert; his son, Timothy L. Schweigert; his daughter, Lindsey M. Schweigert; and his cherished grandchildren, Rudy D. Schweigert and Autumn I. Schweigert. He also leaves behind two brothers, Thomas W. Schweigert and Bernard Schweigert Jr.

Kenneth was predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth and Bernard Schweigert Sr., whose values of strength and integrity he carried forward throughout his life.

Known affectionately as "GOR," Kenneth was the beloved patriarch of the family-a steady presence who could always be counted on in times of need. When problems arose, he dropped everything to help without hesitation or complaint. His selfless nature shone brightest in the way he stepped up as a father figure for his grandson Rudy, embracing the role with unwavering love and commitment.

Outside of work and family responsibilities, Kenneth found joy in simple pleasures that reflected his hands-on spirit and love for camaraderie. He enjoyed tinkering in his life-size garage-a space that became both workshop and sanctuary-and took pride in smoking pork steaks in the backyard for friends and loved ones. Deer hunting season brought him together with high school buddies for cherished traditions in the woods, while "Sandwich Mondays" at the Elks Club offered laughter and connection that spanned decades.

Kenneth's legacy is one of quiet strength, enduring love, and steadfast devotion to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire acts of kindness and courage in others. A Memorial Gathering will be held on August 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Little Flower Church 1264 Arch Terrace. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 25, 2025, at 12:00 PM at The Elks Lodge 2242 Mason Lane
